Our Team

Sports Schooling was founded on the belief that movement is for everyone – regardless of age, ability or motivation.  What began as a swim school has grown into a multi-disciplinary ecosystem, made up of three distinct yet connected entities that support a lifelong journey in sport and movement:

Joseph Schooling

Olympic Gold Medallist | Director, Sports Schooling | Programme Advisor, Swim Lab & X Lab

Joseph Schooling is Singapore’s first and only Olympic gold medallist, achieving international acclaim with his historic victory in the 100m Butterfly at the 2016 Rio Olympics. His dedication, discipline, and unwavering pursuit of excellence have inspired a generation of young athletes in Singapore and beyond.

As Director of Sports Schooling, Joseph plays an instrumental role in shaping the vision and direction of the company. He is actively involved in strategic planning, programme development, and talent mentorship—ensuring that every student and coach benefits from his elite sporting experience and champion mindset.

Joseph also serves as Programme Advisor to Swim Lab and X Lab, Sports Schooling’s learn-to-swim and competitive swim arms. In this role, he oversees curriculum development, advises on coaching strategies, and lends his expertise to high-performance training environments. From introducing foundational swim techniques to refining race strategies for competitive swimmers, Joseph ensures that all programmes are rooted in excellence, integrity, and athlete well-being.

Beyond his Olympic credentials, Joseph is a strong advocate for youth development and education through sport. He believes in using sport as a tool to unlock potential, build character, and shape future leaders both in and out of the pool.

Through his leadership and mentorship, Joseph is committed to helping young swimmers discover their strengths, dream bigger, and reach new heights—just as he did.
